Michael Owen makes double prediction ahead of NUFC’s trip to Chelsea

Michael Owen is expecting a home win for Chelsea ahead of our trip to South West London on Saturday – but he expects us to score at Stamford Bridge.

The ex-Newcastle striker (slash sick note) believes we were ‘outstanding’ in the win over Manchester United – another of his former clubs – however feels we’ll struggle to contain a ‘exciting young Chelsea side’ this weekend.

Writing for the BetVictor Blog ahead of this weekend’s Premier League games, the former NUFC striker said this when asked to predict Saturday’s game at Stamford Bridge:

‘Newcastle were outstanding against a poor Manchester United side at St James’ Park in their last game and thoroughly deserved the points, although I think they will do well to keep this exciting young Chelsea side at arm’s length at Stamford Bridge.

‘Chelsea have won their last four games in all competitions and look full of goals at present. Frank Lampard’s side have come a long way in a short space of time since their heavy opening-weekend defeat at Old Trafford.’

Tip: Chelsea to win and both teams to score

As he states, Chelsea have won all of their last four games in all competitions, scoring FIFTEEN goals in the process, however they’ve been struggling to keep them out at the other end.

They’ve missed N’Golo Kante at times and have often been without first-team centre-back Antonio Rudiger, but the fact they’ve kept just 1 clean sheet in 12 games this season should give us hope of another surprise scalp – especially when Kante and Rudiger could miss out via injury.

Let’s hope we prove Owen wrong and do more than just score on Saturday.
