NUFC loanee scores key goal to send new club top of the league – Watch it here

Newcastle United loanee Rolando Aarons got off the mark for Wycombe Wanderers over the weekend, with his first goal for the Chairboys sending them top of League One.

The 23-year-old talent has featured in recent weeks against Peterborough, Sunderland, Blackpool and Rotherham, but he opened his account for the season on Saturday in a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury.

Watch his post-match interview and the goal below, which sees the winger ghost in at the back post and prod home after latching onto a flick on in the 57th minute:

It’s good to see Rolando finally getting regular minutes in English football after a difficult few seasons, however this may have to be the first of many goals at Wycombe if he’s to force his way into Steve Bruce’s plans.

Elsewhere, Jacob Murphy also got on the scoresheet for Sheffield Wednesday, but his second half strike was quickly forgotten when Blackburn’s stunning late comeback saw them take all three points in a 2-1 win.
