Bookies reveal 5 clubs more likely to go down than NUFC as new relegation odds are released

Following the latest round of Premier League results this week, the bookies now believe there’s FIVE clubs more likely to go down than Newcastle United.

Norwich remain the clear favourites, despite a win at Everton and point against Arsenal in two of their last three, while Watford are next in line – despite the fact they’re manager-less, on just 8 points and 7 away from safety.

Then we have Aston Villa – which may be a surprise candidate for some Newcastle fans given how they outclasses us in all areas a fortnight ago.

Then come Southampton – the bookies 4th favourite for the drop after their sudden upturn in form – followed by West Ham, who were beaten comfortably at Wolves in midweek.

We all know you’re never ‘too good to go down’, so the awful form Everton, Bournemouth and West Ham have shown in recent weeks should not be cast aside as a minor blip.

Everton and West Ham appear to have deep-rooted issues, but I expect the former to be fine once a capable new manager comes in and the latter to recover when Pellegrini’s inevitable sacking arrives.

Burnley’s form is a funny one. They’re solid at home and tough to beat at times, yet they’ve suffered a few uncharacteristic stuffings. Their doesn’t seem to be much in between with them this season – it’s either a superb 3-0 win at Turf Moor or a 0-3 towelling.

For me, Norwich just won’t have enough and will continue to concede too many, while Watford just stink of relegation. They have plenty talent, but look like a club that’s doing anything but pulling in the right direction together.

As for the final side to go down, I believe it’ll be one of Southampton, Villa, West Ham and ourselves.

Let’s hope that feeling eases with another huge win on Sunday! Take all three points against an in-form Saints side and even the most pessimistic Newcastle fan may be starting to believe we’ll be ok this season!
