Newcastle have “agreed a deal” to sign Reagan Thomson – Report

According to an ‘exclusive’ from The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Newcastle have ‘agreed a deal’ to sign Scottish talent Reagan Thomson.

Thompson, 16, had been targeted by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, but it’s reported today that we will sign the midfielder from Queens Park in January.

Nixon claims he will “agree personal terms before joining officially when the window opens next month”, suggesting the deal is all but done.

The midfielder has already made one appearance for Queens Park’s senior side and is a Scotland u-17 international.

Rangers were said to be in pole position to sign Thomson, but The Sun claim he was attracted to the idea of going straight into our U-23 set up, with the Gers also failing to match our improved bid of £35,000.

The report claims the 16-year-old talent – who has been compared to former Rangers and current Sheffield Utd playmaker John Fleck – has received interest from a whole host of clubs, however it seems we may have won the race.
