Bruce shares big injury update – 5 ruled out but 2 set to return vs Crystal Palace?

Steve Bruce has shared some positive news on the injury front, revealing that Miguel Almiron and Jonjo Shelvey are in with a real chance of returning ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Crystal Palace.

The NUFC boss has confirmed that the game will come too soon for Allan Saint-Maximin, Ciaran Clark, Ki Sung-yeung, Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie, however news of Almiron and Shelvey’s return could be a huge boost.

Here’s what Bruce has had to say on the injury front this morning during his pre-match presser:

“Almiron and Shelvey have a chance. They trained yesterday. We haven’t seen them yet today but they seemed OK.

“It’s still too early for Saint-Maximin, Ki and Clark. Ritchie and Lascelles aren’t there either.”

“So, we’ve still got a few missing but at least we’ve got a couple back.”

Almiron was spotted taking part in training yesterday, but the club’s official photos only showed Jonjo Shelvey in the gym and NOT on the training pitches, making many believe tomorrow’s game could come too soon for the in-form midfielder.

That said, Bruce has now confirmed that BOTH trained yesterday, hinting that they’ll be back in action this weekend.
