Four NUFC U-23’S set to be named in Bruce’s FA Cup squad at Rochdale tomorrow?

Newcastle’s U-23’s play Fulham at Little Benton this afternoon, and there’s a few youngsters who’ve been left out – making us wonder if they’re set to be included in Steve Bruce’s senior squad tomorrow.

Those three are Thomas Allan, Ludwig Francilette and Elias Sorensen, suggesting the young trio could be included in our FA Cup squad set to take on Rochdale this weekend.

Lewis Cass could also be one to watch. He’s not in the U-23 squad today and, given our defensive injury crisis, he could well travel with the first team.

Allan, a winger, has been one of the shining lights in our U-23’s this season, bagging 9 goals and an assist in 14 games in all competitions. With Saint-Maximin still injured and us in need of fresh impetus in attack, he could feature.

Then to Ludwig Francilette, the 6ft 4′ centre-back who’s been impressing in the second string since making a summer move to Tyneside.

With Lejeune in desperate need of a rest and Schar, Lascelles, Dummett and Clark injured, it would make sense to give the towering Frenchman a run out.

Finally, Elias Sorensen, who’s become somewhat of an enigma after scoring for fun last season yet struggling to get minutes during a loan spell at Carlisle recently.

I’d be surprised if he was thrown in at this level given he’s just failed to prove himself in League Two, but his absence today suggests he could be involved tomorrow – unless Shola Ameobi has sorted him another loan move?
