Aston Villa have hijacked Steve Bruce’s attempts to sign AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, according to reports in Italy.
This comes from Milan-based outlet Corriere della Sera, who claim Villa have launched a £30m bid for the Polish international.
It was reported a few days ago by Alan Nixon that we were ‘in talks‘ with AC Milan over a deal for the 24-year-old, with Bruce eyeing a loan deal with an option to buy, however the latest claims from Italy suggest Aston Villa may have stolen a march.
While we are in dire need of new options up top as Joelinton’s struggles reached a new low last weekend, Aston Villa’s striker search has become extremely desperate after club record signing Wesley Moraes was ruled out for NINE months with a serious knee ligament injury last weekend.
It’s always wise to treat these reports from Italy with a pinch of salt, but it’s easy to see why Villa could be forced to spend big this winter in a bid to save their season and sign a much needed striker.
After all, the only fit striker on their books following Wesley’s injury is Jonathan Kodija – a player who’s far from popular amongst Aston Villa fans.
Slow again nowt new here then
