Ademola Lookman makes decision on proposed move from RB Leipzig to Newcastle – Sky Germany

According to Sky Germany, Ademola Lookman has already told his people he’d like to complete a loan move to Newcastle this month.

It emerged late last night that we were preparing a loan bid for the RB Leipzig winger, and reports from Germany are now suggesting that both parties have ‘largely agreed to work together’ to get a deal done.

Here’s a snippet from Sky Germany’s latest piece on the 22-year-old talent:

“Lookman absolutely wants to leave RB Leipzig this winter. With Newcastle and his people, they have largely agreed to work together.

“The offer will be a loan until the end of the season with a subsequent purchase option.”

It sounds promising and the sort of deal Mike Ashley and co. would be more than likely to sanction, however it seems there’s no agreement in place just yet between the two clubs – just a willingness from both sides to get it done.

Lookman has played just 200 minutes of football with the Bundesliga side this season following his £22m move to Germany last summer, and it seems a potential return to England has appealed to the former Everton youngster.

A loan deal would make sense for both parties – he’s not playing at RB Leipzig and we need a winger – but it will be interesting to see if they will agree to a ‘option to buy’ at the end of the season. Will they agree to cash in on a player they paid big money for just six months ago?

Time will tell, but this one sounds like it has legs and seems like the exact sort of deal I’d expect us to pursue under the current regime.
