Lee Ryder responds to claims NUFC have made ‘£25m bid’ for Emmanuel Dennis

According to Lee Ryder, Newcastle have not ‘at this stage’ made a bid to sign Emmanuel Dennis.

This is the ‘word’ on Tyneside according to The Chronicle’s chief writer, with this coming after Eurosport reporter Manu Lonjon claimed we’d submitted an offer to sign the Club Brugge forward this morning.

Here’s what Ryder’s had to say in the last few moments, suggesting talk of a £25m bid is wide of the mark:

While Ryder has poured cold water on claims of an official bid, his wording (‘at this stage’) suggests this may not be the last we hear on a potential move for the Nigerian international.

I may be wrong, but his tweet in response to the rumour appears to be slightly cryptic, suggesting we’ve not bid….yet? Time will tell.

Dennis – a 22-year-old attacker who can play wide or up top – has bagged 8 goals and 2 assists in all competitions this season, including two in Brugge’s Champions League draw at Real Madrid last October.
