According to the Scottish Sun, Newcastle have ‘won the race’ to sign highly-rated Scottish talent Reagan Thomson.
The 16-year-old talent has been regularly linked with a move to Tyneside over the past few months, and it’s now reported north of the border that we’ve beaten both Rangers and Celtic to the signing of the 16-year-old.
The Scottish Sun claim he’ll arrive for a fee in the region of £50,000 and link up with our U-23 side after he signs a two and a half year deal at the club.
Elsewhere, BBC Sport Scotland’s Stefan Bienkowski says the player should sign in the ‘next few days’:
Thomson is a Scotland U-17 international and has played 9 times for Queen’s Parks’ senior side this season – despite still being only 16.
He operates as a central midfielder and looks set to be the latest youngster signed up to our Academy, following on from moves for ex-Chelsea talent Kyle Scott and French centre-back Ludwig Francillette over the summer.
