Newcastle set to make €12m bid for Ricardo Horta after move for ‘top target’ stalls – O Jogo

According to reports O Jogo, Newcastle are preparing to make a €12m (£10m) move for Braga star Ricardo Horta.

O Jogo claim that Ademola Lookman is the club’s first choice target, but report that we’ll make a move for Horta in ‘the coming days’ after learning RB Leipzig won’t let him leave this month.

While Horta fits the bill in terms of his age (25), potential, position and price tag, it’s worth taking this link with a pinch of salt given it comes from a Portuguese outlet that’s got its fair share of transfer links wrong when it comes to Newcastle United.

That said, claims we’ll make a £10m bid when the player’s release clause is £25m sounds very much like Mike Ashley’s NUFC!

Horta has bagged 14 goals in all competitions so far this season – including 6 goals in 9 Europa League appearances.

One to watch or made up nonsense from Portugal? Time will tell!

Here’s him in action:
