“It will not be my last game for NUFC!” – Jetro Willems releases emotional statement

Jetro Willems has sent a brilliant but emotional message to Newcastle fans following news of his season-ending injury today.

After it was confirmed earlier that a cruciate knee ligament will keep him out for the remainder of the season, the Dutch full-back has vowed that Saturday’s appearance at St James’ Park will NOT be his last in a black and white shirt.

Here’s what he’s had to say in a heartfelt message to the club and supporters on social media:

A brilliant message from the 25-year-old, who is clearly desperate to complete a permanent move to the club – despite this injury meaning he won’t play again during the remainder of his loan from Frankfurt.

Elsewhere, Paul Dummett has also sent a message to fans after he too was ruled out for the season today with a tendon injury in his leg:

Wishing both a speed recovery – and hoping Jetro Willems is re-signed and back playing in a black and white shirt later this year!
