It’s been an awful 24 hours on the injury front for Newcastle United, but it seem Everton have plenty issues of their own ahead of tonight’s game at Goodison Park.
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that attacking trio Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Alex Iwboi are all out, while £25m centre-back Michael Keane could also miss the match.
First-team midfielders Andre Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andres Gomes – who they paid a combined £50m for – are also long-term absentees, meaning two of Delph, Davies and Schneiderlin look set to start again.
We have learnt this week that both Jetro Willems and Paul Dummett will miss the remainder of the season, but news that over £170m of Everton talent will be missing does our hopes of a good result no harm ahead of Tuesday night’s meeting on Merseyside.
Sigurdsson hasn’t been in the best of form this season and Iwobi has flattered to deceive at times, but Richarlison is arguably Everton’s key man and biggest attacking threat.
The Brazilian not only got the winner in our last meeting at Goodison – as well as bagging an assist at St James’ Park last month – but has weighed in with 10 goals and 4 assists already this season.
An in-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be one to watch, with him scoring twice in their 1-2 win on Tyneside, but we have every chance of frustrating the blues here if we can put in another dogged defensive display.
