  • According to reports in Italy, Valentino Lazaro ‘prefers’ to join RB Leipzig – not Newcastle United – and now looks likely to join the German club.
  • North-East reporter believes NUFC’s bid to sign Jarrod Bowen could go down to the wire, feeling Hull could cash in for “£10-£12m” on deadline day.
  • Newcastle have been credited with an interest in AC Milan duo Franck Kessie and Hakan Calhanoglu – with reports in Italy claiming we’ve made an ‘offer’ for the latter.
  • Lee Ryder has confirmed that Newcastle’s Steve Nickson is continuing to monitor MLS goal machine Josef Martinez – and has suggested Valentino Lazaro may pass up the chance to join the club.
  • Steve Bruce has revealed that NUFC new boy Nabil Bentaleb could make his first appearance for the club during Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Oxford.
