Nottingham Forest have submitted a loan bid for Dwight Gayle – which includes a £15m ‘obligation to buy’ IF they secure promotion back to the Premier League.
This comes from Sky Sports’ North-East reporter Keith Downie, with the Mail’s Craig Hope also confirming the Championship side have made a move for the 29-year-old this afternoon.
Here’s what both have had to say in the last few moments:
Gayle is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury – which he picked up in our 1-1 draw at Wolves earlier this month – but is expected to be back fit next month.
Steve Bruce has regularly sung his praises, naming him as a player he’s tried to sign in the past, however he’s rarely featured in his starting 11 so far this season – despite Joelinton’s struggled up top.
I can see Gayle leaving over the next 24 hours given Bruce will be unable to guarantee the striker first team football, but only IF we sign a striker before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.
Oh well, Dwight will be going nowhere as we wont get a striker in before the deadline.
Thats fine, we just need big Joe to start banging them in or Dwight to get on the end of a few chances
