NUFC keen to sign 6ft 4′ striker nicknamed ‘The Beast’ – Club will sell for £29m – Report

According to reports in Turkey, Newcastle are interested in signing Fenerbahce star Vedat Muriqi this summer.

The 6ft 4′ striker – who’s nicknamed ‘The Beast’ – has been in superb form for the Turkish giants this season, bagging 13 goals and 5 assists in 22 appearances, and it’s claimed we are one of THREE Premier League clubs keen.

Turkish outlet Net Haber claim that ourselves, Leicester City and Burnley are all interested along with Monaco – however it’s reported the Fenerbahce board will not allow their star man to leave on the cheap, with a £29m asking price reported.

Muriqi, 25, is a Kosovan international who’s been prolific in the Super Lig for a few seasons now, earning a move to Fenerbahce just last summer after bagging 17 goals and 8 assists for Caykur Rizespor across the 2018/19 campaign.

This latest transger link hardly comes from the most reputable outlet so should be taken with a pinch of salt, but his profile – a big target man suited to a lone striker role – and age suggests he’s the sort of player that could fit into Steve Bruce’s plans.
