There have been some interesting, but not entirely surprising, stats emerge about our possession percentage this week.
As it currently stands we currently have the lowest average possession of any team in all Europe’s big 5 league’s; Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

Of course possession isn’t the most important thing, and over the last two and a half seasons we’ve seen plenty of heart and fight as we’ve successfully maintained our Premier League status, and there is a lot to admire about this group of players.
Despite this, it would certainly be nice to think that we could evolve into a team that can keep the ball and attack more as let’s be honest, a lot of our games aren’t an easy watch.
I personally feel there is a lot to be positive about after the January window as Bentaleb, Rose and Lazaro are all upgrades on what we had in those positions and should improve us.
