Video: Angry fan confronts 4 Newcastle players on train – Watch incident here

There has been some fairly unsavoury video footage emerge of Newcastle players Allan Saint Maximin, Christian Atsu, Nabil Bentaleb and Danny Rose seemingly clashing with Newcastle fans.

The incident took place whilst the players were travelling back to Newcastle after Sunday’s horror second half showing and capitulation at Arsenal.

The quartet had decided against flying due to the adverse weather conditions and travelled home by train, and some fans who were rightly unimpressed with the performance, went into the first class carriage to confront them (and was later told to leave as the second clip shows).

Watch the videos below:

The club have come out and said the players have done nothing wrong, and while fans have every right to voice their opinion, it’s hard to disagree.

I’m sure the players are aware they weren’t good on Sunday, and harassing them whilst they are travelling isn’t going to fix anything. They are human beings after all.

Mind you, if I ever saw Mike Ashley in public I can’t promise how I’d behave so I’m not drawing the moral high ground here.

There’s also been reports that the players refused to sign autographs for some kids but that in itself could just be hearsay. There is no video footage of that and it sounds unlikely.

As with a lot of things regarding Newcastle United, seems a bit of a storm in tea cup and a non event.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this this season, after Jamaal Lascelles spoke to angry fans as he was boarding the team bus after the equally abysmal 5-0 defeat at Leicester back in September.
