Gary Neville makes NUFC prediction with 11 games of the season remaining

Gary Neville believes Newcastle United will NOT be dragged into a relegation fight – despite us winning just 1 game in our last 9 in the Premier League.

Instead, the Sky Sports pundit says it’ll be three of Norwich, Watford, West Ham, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Brighton who go down.

Speaking on Monday Night Football following West Ham’s 3-2 defeat at Anfield, here’s what he had to say on the fight for survival:

“I look at the bottom six and it will be three of those in my opinion,”

“I think Newcastle will get enough points to stay clear of it. West Ham are the team that would have least expected to be there at the start of the season.”

The fact we’re still 7 points clear of the bottom three makes me believe we’ll be fine (somehow), but we’ve shown all the signs of a side set to be dragged into a relegation battle recently.

Not only have we won just 1 of our last 9 league games, we’ve never looked like scoring, have looked a soft touch at the back, seem despondent and frustrated and are struggling to do any of the basics that saw us scrap results earlier this season.

I think we’ll just about be fine, but with our next 6 league games being against Burnley, Southampton, Sheffield Utd, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and West Ham, we’re heading into a crucial period in worryingly bad form.

Fail to make the most of our favourable fixtures and we could be in BIG trouble before we know it.
