NUFC star told he won’t play again for 5 months after serious injury is confirmed – Report

According to the Daily Star’s Ian Murtagh, Ciaran Clark has been ruled out for the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage.

This comes from the north-east reporter’s latest ‘exclusive‘, which claims the centre-back has been told by a specialist that he will not play again this season – meaning we won’t seen him in a black and white shirt until pre-season friendlies begin in just under 5 months time.

Clark’s injury came late on in our 4-0 defeat at Arsenal almost a fortnight ago, with him spotted leaving the Emirates on crutches (and wearing a protective boot) after an awkward clash with Bukayo Saka.

This is now the THIRD left-sided defender Steve Bruce has lost for the season, with Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems having already been ruled out since the turn of the year.

Thankfully, we still have plenty good options at centre-back, but with Florian Lejeune struggling since returning from his second ACL, we’ll have to hope he, Lascelles, Fernandez and Schar step up between now and the middle of May!
