Newcastle United loanee Freddie Woodman was involved in a brilliant battle with former striker Aleksandar Mitrovic last night.
The young stopper is having a superb spell with Swansea and looked on course for his 11th clean sheet of the season after saving the Serbian’s 88th minute penalty at Craven Cottage last night.
He made a brilliant triple save to keep the scoreline at 0-0, but the ex-NUFC forward got his revenge deep into stoppage time, powering a thumping header in off the bar in the 94th minute.
Watch both moments here:
The emphatic finish makes Mitrovic the Championship’s top scorer on 23 goals – taking him ahead of Brentford star Ollie Watkins, currently on 22 for the season.
The win moves promotion chasing Fulham up to third and 5 points behind Leeds in second, while defeat for Woodman’s Swansea leaves them in 9th and 5 points adrift from the play off spots.
It’ll be interesting to see what we do with Woodman when he returns to Tyneside this summer – and you get the feeling Mitrovic will be playing Premier League football no matter what next season after yet another prolific stint in the second tier.
