Watch angry Steve Bruce clash with journalist claiming he had ‘bust up’ with NUFC star

Steve Bruce has shot down claims he and Allan Saint-Maximin had been involved in a row after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Burnley.

The initial story came from the Mail’s Craig Hope, who claimed the Frenchman disagreed with Bruce’s decision to ‘drop’ him over the weekend – insisting he was fully fit – however the NUFC boss has described reports of a fallout as ‘total nonsense’.

Instead, he believes the story was an attempt to ‘derail’ his preparations for our FA Cup clash with the Baggies, saying the report is simply ‘wrong’ and ‘total lies’.

Here’s Bruce’s furious exchange with the Mail’s Craig Hope after the game last night:

“The facts are Allan has twice done his hamstring since he’s been at the club.

He wasn’t great with it, didn’t train on Sunday, but he trained on Monday.

“All of the nonsense we have to read about is total nonsense.”

“It’s total lies and nonsense. I am glad your source is wrong. Are you calling me a liar?”

“Your report is wrong – I have (had) no row with Saint-Maximin – wrong.”

Considering Craig Hope’s ‘exclusive’ claimed this ‘fallout’ had left Saint-Maximin’s future in doubt – with Wolves and Palace said to be interested – it’s good to hear Bruce pour cold water on his concerning report.

There may be more to it than Bruce is letting on, but he insisted both before and after the game that he has absolutely no issue with the 22-year-old Frenchman.

Whether you believe Bruce or not, I back what comes from the horses mouth over a ‘source’ connected to the Daily Mail..
