According to an ‘exclusive’ from Football Insider, former Mag and alleged Newcastle target James Tavernier will be allowed to leave Rangers for £4m this summer.
The piece states Rangers are planning a summer overhaul after losing out to Celtic once again in the SPL, and it seems Tavernier could be sold in a bid to raise funds.
Several years on from his exit at St James’ Park, the 28-year-old was linked with a surprise return last summer – and Football Insider claim we are one of THREE clubs to have made recent enquiries for the right-back, with Villa and West Brom also linked.

It’s a nominal fee (if true) in this day and age, but it remains to be seen if he really is a genuine target of Steve Bruce’s.
Not only that, he turns 29 later this year and is yet to actually prove himself in the English top flight.
His record of 46 goals and 73 assists in 241 appearances for the Scottish giants is pretty impressive, but with plenty right-backs on our books and Lazaro looking to earn a permanent deal, it doesn’t seem like an area we need to strengthen.
That said, should we somehow decide Manquillo doesn’t deserve a new contract and allow him to leave on a free, Tavernier may be looked at as a cut-price replacement?
4 million ?ur having a fkn laugh, double that and add another 2 , but still with the fatman at the helm of ur great club no way we will ever so business with you ??

@Robster there’s a reason he’s spent the majority of his career in Scotland and it’s because he can cope with inferior opposition.
If he was as good as people make out he would have been snapped up years ago by a prem team, waste of money ….. Next.
