Report claims NUFC loan star will NOT sign permanently – but his agent suggests otherwise..

According to reports in Italy, Valentino Lazaro has every intention of returning to the San Siro at the end of the season – despite his agent’s comments and the fact a loan move to St James’ Park includes a reported ‘option to buy’.

This comes from Milan-based outlet FCInter1908, who claim he still hopes to prove himself under Antonio Conte – even if the former Chelsea boss doesn’t see the Austrian in his long-term plans.

FCInter1908 report that Lazaro feels he has unfinished business in Serie A after securing a £20m move just last summer, also suggesting that he prefers the ‘lifestyle’ in Italy.

That said, these claims don’t quite fit in with what his agent was saying a few weeks ago:

“When I see Valentino now and how happy he is, I know we did a few things right coming here.

“We will see what’s going on in the next few months but first of all we have to live in the now.

“I would not say no [to a permanent deal] because we appreciate everything Newcastle is doing for Valentino.”

Lazaro himself has also revealed just how happy he’s been on Tyneside, but these new reports are hardly convincing – and aren’t the first time we’ve heard whispers that he’s still hoping to make it at Inter Milan.

At his parent club’s end, the piece says Inter Milan are in ‘no hurry’ and will ‘try to understand what Newcastle’s intentions will be’ – suggesting both they and Antonio Conte may be open to his exit if we are keen to keep him.

We shall see. Hopefully he can continue to play as he did against West Brom when the season resumes, with any potential permanent deal out of the question unless he keeps on impressing between now and the end of the season!
