Valentino Lazaro reveals the only thing he’s struggling with after 2 months at NUFC

Valentino Lazaro has revealed that he’s enjoying ‘everything’ about life at Newcastle United so far – apart from the weather!

He isn’t the only overseas arrival to struggle with the freezing cold, bitter breeze and regular rain we get on Tyneside, and he won’t be the last.

This comes from a Q&A session he held with fans on Instagram over the weekend, which saw him respond to the questions about his time at St James’ Park following his January loan move from Inter Milan.

Here’s what he had to say when a fan asked, ‘Are you enjoying your time in Newcastle?”:

“Everything great so far!….

but the weather…”

The Austrian international had a difficult start, with him struggling defensively in our 4-0 defeat at Arsenal and being sent off the following week at Crystal Palace, however he’s looked the part since then.

He showed his class in our 2-3 win at West Brom in the FA Cup – playing well throughout and scoring our all important third goal – and had been tipped to start against Sheffield United had Saturday’s game gone ahead as planned.

Hopefully the season resumes before long and he can help convince the club he’s worth signing on a permanent team.

In the mean time, let’s hope the weather improves for his sake!

  1. Newcastle is one of the driest cities in the whole of the UK because of our proximity to the rain shadow.
We get nowhere near the amount of rainfall that other areas of the country experience.
It does my head in that even natives of the area will go along with this blatant misinformation about it always raining in Newcastle.
It may be cold because of the wind coming from The North Sea but that is it !
