Day 3 without football for Newcastle United fans – Obafemi Martins (video)

Does anyone else regret saying the international break was boring now?!

The weekend has passed and to say it was odd not having one bit of football to feast our eyes on over that precious 48 hour period would be an understatement – but we better get used to it.

April 4th is ‘technically’ the date Premier League football will resume, but I think we all know it’ll be delayed much beyond then.

With that in mind, we plan to share a memorable clip, a quiz or moment of pure nostalgia each day to make up for the lack of football on our screens.

First up, Obafemi Martins – the Nigerian hitman who, for all his inconsistencies, brought us some explosive moments in a black and white shirt.

Despite his erratic and unpredictable style, Martins weighed in with a decent 35 goals and 7 assists in 104 games for the club.

Now 35, he’s currently a free agent, but is still said to be on the look out for a new club after overcoming a horror hamstring injury that kept him out for the majority of 2018.

Here’s more clips of him at his brilliant best in black and white:
