Player who ‘rejected’ big money move to NUFC now open to signing this summer – Report

According to reports in France, Lille star Boubakary Soumaré could yet be persuaded to join Newcastle United this summer.

The highly-rated 21-year-old was the subject of a £45m bid from Newcastle in January – an offer Steve Bruce confirmed was accepted by the Ligue 1 side – however it emerged that Soumare turned down us down.

A few months later, French outlet BuzzSport report that the French midfielder could yet be tempted to complete a big money move to St James’ Park.

If true, this could be a deal we revisit this summer (whenever the window does open, that is!).

That said, such a U-turn may raise questions amongst Newcastle United chiefs, making them wonder why he’d suddenly jump at the chance to join a club he clearly rejected just a matter of months ago.

Soumare – who’s believed to be one of France’s top young talents – would be some coup for the club, however I’d still be very surprised if we signed him given there’s said to be several big European clubs in the mix.
