After a U-turn this morning to finally close his stores following a nationwide backlash, Mike Ashley has been found out once again – this time by raising the price of Sports Directs indoor exercise equipment by ‘50% or more’ on Tuesday.
Sports Direct, still 62% owned by our owner Mike Ashley, was originally planning on staying open for business despite orders from Prime Minister Boris Johnson to close ‘none essential businesses’ last night, with the NUFC owner shamelessly claiming his staff should be classed as ‘key workers’.
However, cabinet minister Michael Gove put further pressure on the sports chain to close, insisting ’there is no reason why Sports Direct should remain open,’ forcing Ashley to reconsider.
Now a tweet from PA Media has added more misery to the company, exposing Sports Direct to be profiteering by raising the prices of stock – with some sports equipment rising “by more than 50%“.
It’s safe to say the past few hours have been a PR disaster for the sports retail company – something that they aren’t exactly alien too – with Ashley himself having been summoned to Parliament in recent years to explain working standards within his business.
Showing he is nothing but an opportunist once again, maybe now the whole nation will realise what a colossal moron Mike Ashley is – not just Newcastle supporters!
Newcastle fans certainly let their voices known on social media after watching the news this morning:
Bloody greedy ******* hope this bankrupts the fat git please

Profiteering during the WW2 was illegal and people were punished for it, the government should be doing the same now. Parasitic vermin like Ashley should be brought to task and made an example of.

Come on hit this parasite on society with a huge fine then declare him unfit to run a business under the WW2 profiteering act then jail him
