According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan are confident Newcastle will activate their option to sign Valentino Lazaro on a permanent deal this summer.
This comes from Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who report that the Serie A side are now ‘optimistic’ we will pursue a ‘£21.5m’ deal for the 24-year-old in a few months time.
They also claim that Inter Milan are set to make a profit on the player, with it seeming as though ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has already made a decision on the Austrian’s future – despite suggestions he was keen to fight for his future at the San Siro.
It remains to be seen if there’s any truth in these new reports from Italy, but one player Steve Bruce has today confirmed his desire to sign beyond his current loan spell is Danny Rose.
Could this mean the club are preparing to sign both Rose AND Lazaro on permanent deal when the transfer window reopens?
Time will tell, but both look to have the quality to improve us in two key areas, with Rose being a proven Premier League player who’s played at a high level for several years and Lazaro immediately showing his quality after being played in a more advanced role at West Brom.
