According to the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, Newcastle United have responded to Sunday night’s new takeover claims with a simple “no comment“.
This comes after a big ‘exclusive’ emerged from the Telegraph late last night, stating a Saudi takeover has now ‘moved closer’ after the Premier League were informed about their £340m bid to end Mike Ashley’s tenure on Tyneside.
That said, the club have refused to confirm or deny the rumours – a message that Lee Ryder has taken issue with given the lack of clarity it gives to fans desperate to see a deal go through.
Here’s his brilliant response to the club’s latest “no comment”:
Reality is #NUFC should be offering more guidance to their masses of loyal fans on this. Especially after season ticket and Sports Direct mess this week.
We could all see what Newcastle United used to be and what it can be on that 5-0 rerun pushed out by the club.
“Current regime have had more than enough time now to make it work.
If it’s not true – deny it. If it’s £340m on the table accept it and give somebody else a chance.
Well said, with this summing up the situation superbly when it comes to the club’s lack of communication on key matters and inability to sell the club to someone capable of taking us forward.
Considering how many times we’ve been here before, the least we’re owed is some clarity on the matter – something Mike Ashley and co. have never offered via their total lack of communication on key issues surrounding the club.
As ever, we’re left to wonder, refresh Twitter and hope that their ‘no comment’ is a sign there may be something in this – all while Mike Ashley is ‘out of the country after a week of bad press’.
