A few days ago, a TEAMtalk ‘exclusive’ claimed Steve Bruce was planning to snap up Burnley duo Jeff Henrick and Robbie Brady this summer, stating both could sign at St James’ Park as free agents.
Now, Burnley paper the Lancashire Live have shared an update on the duo’s futures.
Their reporter Alex James insists that Burnley are keen to keep the pair at Turf Moor, stating that ‘talks are ongoing’ to sign both up to new deals.
The piece also states that Burnley have an option to extend Brady’s deal by another 12 months – suggesting he will NOT be leaving on a free this summer as reported by TEAMtalk.
As for Hendrick, James reports that Sean Dyche is still attempting to convince the Irishman to sign, with the 28-year-old having been a regular part of his Burnley side after establishing himself as a ‘key player’.
So, our interest hasn’t been denied, but it sounds like Brady will come at a cost if we plan to sign him, and that Hendrick could yet commit to a new deal at Turf Moor.
