Lee Ryder claims Newcastle United star is now ‘unsettled’ – Have old issues resurfaced?

According to Lee Ryder, Isaac Hayden is ‘unsettled’ – suggesting the Newcastle United midfielder’s future is uncertain once again.

On Sunday, his latest transfer piece for the Chronicle reported that we are keeping tabs on a potential deal to bring Nice midfielder Wylan Cyprien to the North East – you can read it here.

The piece claimed that Bruce is wary of needing a possible replacement for some of the current crop of midfielders, most notably the Longstaff brothers, who appear to be unsettled at the club and look more likely to leave as each day passes.

However, Ryder also stated that Isaac Hayden is ‘thought to be unsettled’ at St James’ Park.

Hayden in the past had admitted to being unsettled on Tyneside and wished for a move down South back in 2018 when he handed in a transfer request citing ‘family reasons.’

His performances in a black-and-white shirt never deteriorated despite wanting a move away – something that gained him the respect of the Toon Army.

As recently as last summer Hayden put those emotions to bed by revealing he was now happy with life in Newcastle and wished to remain at the club, telling fans how he was looking forward to linking up with Steve Bruce again, who managed him as a youngster at Hull.

Whether Isaac Hayden decides to leave or continue to ply his trade here, it should be with Newcastle fans best wishes.

An integral part of the squad since the Championship season in 16/17, he has always given everything to the black-and-white cause since he arrived here.

Making 114 appearances for us in just three and a half seasons is nothing to be scorned at, and alongside Ciaran Clark, I would easily make him the ‘unsung hero’ of this current Newcastle bunch.
