According to reports in Germany today, Newcastle are interested in signing unsettle RB Leipzig star Yussuf Poulsen.
This comes from BILD, who report that we are the ‘favourites’ to sign the Danish international – despite interest from both Everton and West Ham.
They also claim that the 25-year-old has handed in a transfer request with the Bundesliga side and could leave for a fee in the region of €30m (£27m) this summer.
Interestingly, it’s also claimed he’s keen to complete a move to the Premier League:
The Danish international is believed to be frustrated by his recent lack of game time under Julian Nagelsmann, with him making just two league starts since the turn of the year.
Poulsen has bagged 3 goals and 11 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions this season, also weighing in with an impressive 19 goals and 8 assists across their 2018/19 campaign.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with a move for Poulsen – with our reported interest dating back to July 2018.
With him available, at the right age (25) and likely to be sold at a price we could afford, could this be one to watch when the transfer window eventually reopens?
