Fabio Santini says NUFC takeover imminent & Saudis already eyeing big double deal – Pinch of salt alert..

Some huge claims have emerged from Italian journalist Fabio Santini today – although it goes without saying that they must be taken with a considerable pinch of salt!

Speaking on Italian show Diretta Mercato, he claims that Saudi prince Mohammed bin Salman is ‘about to buy Newcastle’ and is eyeing a big move for ex-Juventus boss Max Allegri once the takeover is complete.

Santini also reports that Allergi – who’s been out of work since he left Juve last summer – wants to make Inter Milan loanee Mauro Icardi his first signing at St James’ Park:

“Mohammed bin Salman is about to buy Newcastle. The Saudi prince is thinking of a double hit. Max Allegri could become the new manager of the English club.

“The manager has also already asked for the first reinforcement: Mauro Icardi, currently on loan at Paris Saint-Germain, but owned by Inter!”.

Bonkers claims and comments that make you wonder if this is an April Fools joke from a few days ago!

Sports Witness have since run the story, saying his comments have been published on Napoli-based outlet Area Napoli.

Ironically, crazy claims like this just make me all the more dubious of the whole thing.

It’s either the greatest news we’ve ever heard as Newcastle United fans or an Italian journalist who’s got carried away on April Fools day.

We live in hope, but I fear it’s the latter!
