Steve Bruce hit with “big concern” at NUFC – 2 players now ‘in limbo’ & one ‘unsettled’ – Journalist

According to Lee Ryder, Steve Bruce has some ‘big concerns’ surrounding his Newcastle United midfield.

Speaking on the Chronicle’s latest podcast, the chief sports writer claims that he has concerns over THREE players in his engine room, with Isaac Hayden now ‘unsettled’ and the two Longstaff’s currently ‘in limbo’.

Not only that, we’re yet to replace Diame, we lost Ki in January and seem unlikely to keep Bentaleb once his loan move expires, so you can see why Bruce has real concerns about his options moving forward in such a key area of the pitch.

Here’s what Lee Ryder’s had to say:

Considering the uncertainty that’s hanging over the Premier League in general right now, it’s far from ideal to hear that we have three midfielder’s facing uncertain futures.

We know that Matty is set to leave if he doesn’t sign and that Sean has been struggling this season, but it’s disappointing to hear Hayden is unsettled once again.

He revealed last summer in a big interview that his personal situation had improved, with him previously looking for a move down south to be closer to his partner and daughter, however it seems old issues may have resurfaced.

I think Matty Longstaff will end up staying and don’t see Sean leaving any time soon, but could this be the summer Hayden finally says goodbye to St James’ Park?

If so, we’ll need to sign at LEAST two central midfielders whenever the transfer window finally reopens.
