NUFC ‘interested’ in Premier League winger – & have made ‘approach’ for Ligue 1 star – Reports

It may seem insignificant during these surreal times, but Newcastle United have been linked with summer moves for TWO players over the past 24 hours.

The first is Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson, with L’Equipe claiming we are one of FOUR Premier League clubs to have made an approach over the Frenchman’s availability this summer.

The report claims that ourselves, Aston Villa and Everton have all made ‘enquiries’, with West Ham and Wolves also admirers of the 25-year-old who’s been regularly linked with a potential move to Tyneside in recent years.

Elsewhere, the Lancashire Live claim we are one of several clubs who’ve shown interest in Burnley star Dwight McNeil.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with the exciting 20-year-old talent, however the Lancashire Live state the winger is likely to be ‘out of our reach’ for Steve Bruce.

They claim that McNeil’s ‘potential, his contract status, and Burnley’s current healthy financial position‘ mean the Clarets could demand up to £50m for the winger when the window reopens – also noting that interest from Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd has seen our hopes of a deal diminish.

Interest in both may be genuine, with a few recent reports claiming we’ve already identified our ‘summer’ targets, however it’s difficult to see how we’ve made an ‘enquiry’ for Sanson while our entire recruitment team are sat at home on furlough leave!
