Tino Asprilla has hit the nail on the head in a brilliant message to Mike Ashley on social media following news that a takeover on Tyneside is finally edging closer
The former fan favourite took to Twitter to stick up for his old club and criticise Mike Ashley’s miserable tenure, claiming the failed owner saw ‘fans as barcodes’ and that our club is ‘for lovers, not just for merchandisers.’
Here’s his brilliant tweet in response to this week’s takeover news:
A great point brilliantly put, with Mike Ashley set to be remembered for us fleecing of fans and pursuit of money – not success or memories for the thousands that filled his pockets every week.
Tino also posted a follow-up tweet in response to the admiration he received for the anti-Ashley post, thanking the fans for his time at NUFC – a spell he only has ‘great memories’ of:
A stunning and brilliant message.
Aye, right!
