Saudis linked with double move for Barcelona star & ex-Juventus giant – Here we go..

It was always a matter of time before we were linked with some outrageous names following widespread reports that the silly rich Saudis are closing in on a takeover at Newcastle United.

Napoli star Dries Mertens was mentioned by Eurosport’s Manu Lonjon earlier this week, but now Sport Media claim Prince Mohammed Bin Salman wants Antoine Griezmann to be his first signing at St James’ Park (I hope that didn’t just make you spit your tea out!).

The same Italian outlet also claims that he plans to appoint former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri – who they claim has ‘already been contacted’ – before making a move for the Barcelona star and French World Cup winner.

To say this should be taken with a pinch of salt is an understatement.

Yes they may be one of the richest groups in the world who will no doubt have huge plans for the club in time, but these stories are too easy to make up – not forgetting the fact it’s jumping the gun to discuss new managers and big money signings while we’re 13th in the Premier League, have Steve Bruce in charge and are yet to officially see the back of Mike Ashley!

We might have to start getting used to this..
