Steve Bruce signing tells star striker to join NUFC – & reveals why it would be the ‘perfect’ move

Former Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega has urged Rangers star and Colombian compatriot Alfredo Morelos to sign for Newcastle – believing he’d “love” to play under Steve Bruce.

Rodallega signed for Bruce during his time at Wigan and has praised his managerial skills when it comes to giving strikers confidence – something which we’ve not seen Joelinton benefit from so far!

He says Rangers hothead Morelos, who is a fine talent but at times a liability for his team, would enjoy a spell under our gaffer and told him to move if the opportunity arises:

“Alfredo is still a young man and he must take advantage of his situation,”

“He is in a great position in his career because he scored many goals and many clubs will want to sign him.

“He has the confidence and ability to play in the English Premier League.

“If he gets the chance to work with Steve Bruce – someone I know very well – I know he would enjoy that because Bruce is a coach who gives his strikers a lot of confidence. That would be perfect for Alfredo.”

He must be clear and tell his current club that he wants to go there. He has to leave Scottish football and move to a bigger league.

“Either England or Spain. Alfredo has shown what he can do in Scotland.

He’s proved himself there and showed what a good player he is. Now it’s time for him to go to a league that is more demanding.

At 23, Morelos is one of South America’s top prospects and has already been capped seven times for Columbia.

However, he has a notoriously fiery temper which has proved a liability for Rangers at times, seeing him shown a red card on five different occasions – and four against Celtic!

Bruce must also be feeling the heat right now, with talks about who is going to replace him if/when a Saudi takeover is finalised, so a seal of approval from a former player must be a sigh of relief for him right now.

  1. How many goals has he scored at international level????
He’s been sent off more than he’s scored. He wasn’t even named in the last international squad.
God knows what size he’ll be when he returns after the virus.
