In 1908, Gladstone Adams was the official photographer of Newcastle United. He originally came up with the idea of creating windscreen wipers. After FA Cup final, he drove on his way home in the middle of a snowstorm. This is the moment when he thought that it would be a nice idea to have some kind of device that will wipe the windscreen. That is how the idea was born. Later in 1911, his brilliant invention was patented. But unfortunately, it was never produced for sale.
