Ex-Toon star offers to make shock return to NUFC ahead of £300m Saudi takeover

It’s fair to say most Newcastle fans are in danger of getting repetitive strain injury from constantly refreshing Twitter and every other online news outlet at the moment.

It also appears former striker Faustino Asprilla is following it just as keenly – with him now offering to come back and coach our striking department should a Saudi deal go through!

Since the news broke last week hat Amanda Staveley’s consortium was on the verge of completing a deal to rid us of Mike Ashley, Tino has been tweeting almost daily – and it seems he’s just as happy and excited as the rest of us.

It also seems he has his eye on a job!

On serious note, it seems unlikely that Asprilla would actually be employed as a coach, but what would be fantastic is if he, and indeed some other past players were to be welcomed back to St James Park after being alienated by Ashley and his soulless tenure.

Of course Kevin Keegan, Alan Shearer and Jonas Gutierrez are the 3 main examples of club legends been despicably treated in recent times, and hopefully the new owners can build those bridges.

Surely every Newcastle fan would love to see our old heroes attending games, and being paraded to the crowd.

Hopefully these moments are just around the corner.
