DeAndre Yedlin has heaped praise on Allan Saint-Maximin this week during a self-isolation interview on social media.
The American believes ASM will develop into a “crazy talent” who’s “going to be a “big problem in the future” – although it’s not clear whether that last comment is directed towards Premier League defenders or based on our ability to keep him at St James’ Park!
Speaking on Seattle Sounders’ Instagram live – his former MLS side – here’s what he had to say when asked about the explosive Frenchman:
“He is up there with defending Zaha, for me, honestly,”
“He is another one who is just completely unpredictable.
“He is so powerful and he tries things that you wouldn’t expect anyone ever to try.
“He is going to be a crazy talent.
“He is still 23-years-old and is going to be a big problem in the future”
This came after he was asked to pick the toughest Premier League wingers he’s come up against this season, to which he named Man City’s Raheem Sterling and Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
Back to Saint-Maximin, it’s interesting to see Yedlin refer to his power – not just his incredible pace, dribbling and skill.
The takeover talk has got fans excited off the pitch in recent weeks, but it’s fair to say we’re all missing watching the explosive 23-year-old in action.
Let’s hope we have new owners the next time we see him skinning Premier League defenders at St James’ Park!
