We conducted a series of online polls which over 1,000 Toon fans took part in, asking a series of hypothetical questions on what they would do if the Saudi-backed takeover was completed.
The second question asked who fans would like to see appointed as manager should a takeover lead to Steve Bruce’s exit – arguably the most important decision that our new owners will have to make.
For the purpose of the poll we left out Steve Bruce from the list, as ‘question 1’ showed that a whopping 82% of voters believe he should be given the boot, either immediately or at the end of the season.
Here’s the results!
The fanbase’s preferred choice is to see Rafa make a romantic return to Tyneside, although the results may seem closer than you think.
From 1,002 votes, 44% think Rafa should finish the job he started here back in 2016, but 33% feel the more youthful and attacking Pochettino should be the man at the helm.
Ex-Juve boss Max Allegri acquired 18% of the vote while 5% opted to go with ‘someone else’, showing that there are mixed opinions across our supporters as to who should lead us into the Saudi revolution – should one be finalised.
Who would you like to see Staveley and Co. look at should they look to replace Steve Bruce this summer?
