Pochettino speaks out amid NUFC links – Drops ‘next project’ hint & names his ‘dream’ job

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his future ‘dream’ is to lift a title at Tottenham – but admits he’s ‘looking forward to move on’, being motivated and ready for the “next project”.

This arrives from his special guest appearance on BT Sport last night, which focused on Tottenham’s run to the 2019 Champions League final, coming just hours after Sky Sports claimed he was the Saudi-backed consortiums ‘no.1 target’ ahead of their £300m arrival at St James’ Park.

Here’s what he had to say when speaking on BT Sport to Jake Humphrey about his future:

Maybe in 5 year, maybe in 10 year. Before I die, I want to manage Tottenham again, and win a title with Tottenham.

“The love we received from the fans to pay them back.”

“From the day that I left the club, my dream is to one day be back and finish the work we didn’t finish…”

“Deep inside I would like one day to be back, this club is special.”

“Now, of course, I am looking forward to move on and I am so motivated for the next project but deep inside I would like one day to be back.”

His love for Tottenham was evident in the interview, with him clearly having unfinished business and an eagerness to return at some stage, however he does hint towards a new project – something that got a few NUFC fans clutching at straws on social media!

That said, it’s bee suggested by a few journalists that Sky Sports may have jumped the gun regarding claims the Saudis have already drawn up a shortlist of targets – suggesting it may be too early to say if Pochettino is a ‘top target’.

Here’s what The Mail’s Craig Hope and The Telegraph’s Jason Burt have said about it all:

Who knows, but I’d be very surprised if the prospective new owners didn’t already have a few big names in mind – and Pochettino is one highly quality option that available!

  1. No thanks, if he keeps talking about his love for Tottenham I would rather have someone else. Serial 2nd place manager, we don’t need another one of those.
