NUFC ‘offered’ chance to sign France international ahead of £300m Saudi takeover – Report

Another name has today been linked with a potential move to St James’ Park – Layvin Kurzawa.

The PSG left-back is due to be out of contract soon, leaving him open to a summer transfer as a free agent, and it’s now claimed that we are one of five clubs who’ve been offered the chance to sign him.

Considering we’re about to have silly-rich Saudi owners in place at St James’ Park, we might have to get used to players being pushed our way!

This comes via FC Inter News (via Sport Witness), who report that intermediaries connected to the prospective new owners of Newcastle United have been contacted over his availability.

Kurzawa, a 27-year-old France international, could be seen as a shrewd signing on a free transfer, however the same report does state that he’ll demand a net salary of €6m per season – which equates to around £100,000 per week.

Who knows – the man our would-be owners pick to lead this new project may feel it’s a bargain – however it’s unclear how transfer plans will be actioned until the situation at managerial level is clarified.
