Sky reporter shares what takeover source told him this week – “The current NUFC situation is not unusual”

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has shared a positive message to Toon supporters from a source he claims is “very familiar to football club takeovers.”

Downie took to social media to give fans – who are beginning to turn pessimistic – hope that a deal is still on the horizon.

Several parties are clearly trying to derail the deal, with reports this week claiming new legal documents have been sent to the Premier League and ’10 top flight clubs’ are ganging up to block the silly-rich Saudis arrival, however the Sky Sports reporter has shared some intriguing words of wisdom:

As he states above, someone ‘very familiar with football club takeovers’ told him:

“There’s always a period where takeovers go very quiet and then bang – it happens.

The current NUFC situation is not unusual, other than the fact much of it has been played out in the media.”

A message of positivity has also arrived from The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, who reassured fans that the buying side still remain confident the deal will be completed, saying they’re ‘unfazed’ by new complaints and talk of a delay.

He also reports that top-flight clubs could be forced to repay broadcasting revenue even if the season is resumed, news hat would no doubt pierce another nail into Ashley’s NUFC coffin.

It is a waiting game us supporters have no choice but to be a part of.

All roads point towards a breakthrough, we just don’t know exactly when it’ll come, meaning we must just sit tight and try not to go into a meltdown on social media while we wait!
