NUFC’s most improved player set for exit talks as TWO clubs line up summer bargain – Report

Javier Manquillo could be in line for a return to La Liga this summer, with the Chronicle revealing that his agent is set for talks with TWO Spanish sides.

His contract is set to expire next month and the Chronicle are reporting that both Real Betis and Sevilla are interested in taking the Spaniard back to his homeland on a free.

Manquillo has featured 15 times under Bruce and has looked solid, having his best campaign in a black-and-White shirt and arguably being our most improved player so far this season.

However, that may not be enough to earn him a new deal – and with three other right-backs already on the books, it is an area we may be looking to trim down.

While he may have improved his form this campaign, Toon supporter’s hearts will hardly be breaking at the thought of Manquillo leaving the club.

He has been a decent squad player for us over the past three years but if a takeover happens, he is perhaps the sort of player we could expect to see get moved on.

It may be best for us to get him off our wage bill now, but we wish him all the best regardless should he seal a return to Spain!
