Newcastle United look set to take on Hull City in another behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday.
This comes from Hull Live’s Philip Buckingham, who claims Steve Bruce’s side will face up against his former club over the weekend in a bid to regain some more much needed match fitness.
Ironically, the Championship strugglers will also play Sheffield United on Wednesday – the same side we’re set to face in our first Premier League game back on Sunday 21st June.
No more details have been released, with the kick off time and location not yet known, however it’s likely the club’s Twitter account will share post-match highlights at some point on Saturday (as they have following our last two training matches).
This comes following a training game at St James’ Park last weekend (played amongst Newcastle players only which ended 1-1) and behind-closed-doors match with Middlesbrough on Tuesday – a game which ended 3-2 via goals from Muto, Almiron and Joelinton.
Here’s a full list of players who featured against Boro, along with those who missed out:
(1st half): Dubravka – Krafth, Schar, Fernandez, Rose – Ritchie, Hayden, Shelvey, Lazaro – Astu – Muto.
(2nd half appearances): Darlow, Almiron, Yedlin, Lejeune, Lascelles, Manquillo, ASM, Bentaleb and Joelinton.
Did not feature: M Longstaff, S Longstaff, Carroll, Dummett, Gayle, Colback, Saivet, Elliot.
With us set to return to Premier League action a week on Sunday against Sheffield United at St James’ Park, here’s hoping the lads come through the Hull game unscathed and all the better for it.
