When asked for an update on the takeover front, Sky Sports reporter Peter Graves has summed up the situation in one word – exhausting.
It’s been yet another tedious saga that’s seen initial excitement turn into utter exhaustion, however Graves has offered some light at the end of the tunnel, stating he “firmly believes it’ll happen” – and that we won’t have to wait much longer for a final decision.
Here’s what the Sky presenter had to say on Twitter when quizzed by a fed up Newcastle fan:
‘Equally exhausted bud.
‘The wait’s been mad tough on all NUFC fans & also on the club employees who’ve no idea what their future looks like, in these already tough times!
‘I still firmly believe it’ll happen and also that it won’t be much longer.’
As he states, we are not the only ones who’ve been left in the dark, with club employees from top to bottom also seeing their futures be left in limbo during these tough times as a result.
That said, many of those – from Steve Bruce to the players – continue to be paid handsomely, meanwhile us fans are left to suffer in silence, not knowing if we’re to become the richest club in the world or be stuck with Mike Ashley for a little longer yet should the Premier League say no.
On the plus side, however, Graves seems confident that there’ll be a happy ending soon enough, with him being one of many who remain optimistic this deal will go through.
Let’s hope the final decision arrives soon and is a positive one!
