NUFC star names 3 players he’d love to see at St James’ Park – “He’s an amazing player”

Is our last line of defence putting forward his thoughts to be one of our first lines of recruitment?

Martin Dubravka has this week named THREE Slovakian stars he’d like to see at St James’ Park – Milan Skriniar (Inter Milan), Stanislav Lobotka (Napoli) and Marek Hamsik (Dalian Yifang).

One of the best news stories to come out of yesterday was his agent, Pavel Zika, insisting that Martin Dubravka is happy and content at Newcastle and looking to stay, despite interest from of Europes big guns.

But not content with just staying at Newcastle, it appears the super stopper would like to increase his role with the Toon and become part of our European scouting network!

Speaking on The One Glove’s Instagram channel, here’s what he had to say when asked to name three players he’d like to see arrive on Tyneside:

“At the moment, I would probably pick three guys which I think have so much quality, Milan Skriniar, who’s a defender who is playing for Inter Milan. He’s an amazing player.

“Stanislav Lobotka, who’s at Napoli, and is an amazing player. And Marek Hamsik, who’s a legend.”

“These three guys have so much quality and I’m glad I can be on the pitch with them because you can see that they have so much talent, but they work so hard as well.” “

“Even Marek Hamsik, who is 32 or 33, and you can see him every day in the gym doing the things to improve his level. It’s amazing to see that he still has some goals.

He still wants to improve – even though he’s 32, which is nice. I admire him.”

Now, given the big man’s vantage point from inside his penalty box, he should clearly be able to assess what works in the Premier League.

If he says he thinks they’re good enough who are we to argue? After all he’s probably seen enough in training and games to know what should work.

Dubravka’s a class act on the pitch and would appear to be so off it as well. Few had heard of him before he landed in the Toon, but they all know of him now.

With nine games to go he looks a shoo-in to be our Player of the Season and we’re glad to have him.

Perhaps therefore we should consider his wider views and opinions and ensure that he’s someone that we can hold on to as well as he can hold on to the ball.
